But I am here, grounded, at least until the winter holidays I hope. Whew!
Traveling so much has made me realize the benefits to having solid, go-to products that are reliable in any circumstances. One of those things has got to be MAC's Cleanse Off Oil. When I bought this stuff a year ago ($22USD for 5 ounces), it was my first experience with a cleansing oil, and I've got to say that I love it. I love it so much that I sacrificed some of my precious "liquids" space in the quart-sized plastic baggie to bring a travel bottle of it with me on every trip.

I usually use two squirts and just start massaging it onto my skin (make sure it's dry!) at the end of the day. I especially make sure to gently massage my eye area as that's where most of my hard-to-remove makeup lives. After about 10 seconds, I start splashing water onto my face and remove the oil along with an amazing amount of makeup, including waterproof mascara. The only difficult part I've found is removing my eyeliner, because with my eyes shut, the oil just can't get to that part of my face. But that's okay - when I can understand why a product doesn't work, it makes it all better for me. In the end, I have really soft, clean skin and I'm happy.
One note of warning - if you're a contacts wearer like me, you should really take your contacts out before you use the oil. No matter how hard you try, you're likely to get a little in your eyes, which will make your contacts blurry for about 10 minutes. It doesn't hurt at all, it's more annoying than anything else. But, it's annoying enough that I changed my behavior so I could avoid it. Your personal results may vary.

DANA, i know what you mean about the number of cleansing oils out there. i've already got 3 more in my stash that i haven't even opened yet! and yes, you definitely should use it on dry skin. once you get the hang of it, i hope you love it as much as i do.
i havent tried the mac ones but i know everyone raves about DHC and thats why i wanted to give it a try .. i love the soft light scent of olive oil of it too . if you want to try it out, imommoko has the traveling size ! thats where i got mine . :)
bunee - i've definitely heard a lot of hype about DHC too. i remember long ago i even had a DHC catalog. it's quite surprising i haven't ever tried their products, but now you've got me interested because it smells like olive oil. because i already love fekkai's olive oil haircare, i bet i'll love DHC's cleansing oil too.
